Christmas Tree Festival 2017

Once again, Wesley Place was a central part of Alsager's
preparation for Christmas

It hosted a Christmas Tree Festival, with around 40 trees donated and decorated
by local businesses and organisations, and all displayed in one place
for the people of Alsager to see, following the turning on of
the Christmas Lights

In total, nearly 3000 people visited Wesley Place during the course of the weekend... to see the Church decorated with a fabulous display of lights, reminding us that at this time of the year we celebrate Light coming into the World to live among us..

Christmas Trees lit up - a magical sight for young children to see

On the Friday night, we gathered around the Christmas Trees to sing carols ...

On the Sunday night, the Wesley Place choir sang carols ... all reminding us of those momentous events of 2000 years ago.

Little wonder that people were queuing to get into the church to see for themselves what it was all about.

To complete a great weekend of welcoming Alsager through our doors, we invited the children of Highfields County Primary to visit us on the Monday, to see the display of Christmas trees, to talk to us about Christmas, and to see a puppet show retelling the birth of Jesus.
