Welcoming Our New Minister

Welcome Service for Our New Minister

On 3rd September 2017, Wesley Place welcomed its new minister, the Rev'd Rob Hilton, and his family. A service was held for the whole of the Cheshire South Circuit, led by the Chairman of the District, Rev'd Peter Barber to mark this important occasion in the life and worship of Wesley Place. Rob will also be the new superintendent minister for the Cheshire South Circuit.

Rev'd Peter Barber, basing his talk on Philippians 1 v3-11, commented on the need for passion in how we present the Church to the outside world. It is God who fills us with His Spirit and strengthens us for the work He has called us to carry out; this is what makes our proclaiming and living the Gospel possible. A challenge indeed for this new phase in the spiritual life of Wesley Place.

The service also involved the commissioning of a number of lay workers who will be supporting the ministerial team throughout the Circuit. These include our new Youth and Family worker, Jonny Newbould.
